Day 1

Airport Pickup, Guwahati to Shillong (100km/4hrs)

We will receive you at Guwahati Airport and will take you straight to Shillong, which is nearly 4 hours drive from Guwahati. Shillong, a beautiful hill station also known as the “Scotland of the East” is the capital city of Meghalaya and one of the major tourist destinations of East India. In the route, we will stop at Umiam Lake where you can enjoy some delicious Momos with the scenic beauty of the lake. After reaching Shillong, we will check you in to your hotel where you will stay for the night. If time permits, we will take you to local sightseeing of the city.

Day 2

Shillong Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Shillong is famous for its clean steep streets, beautiful lakes, parks and of course the breathtaking waterfalls. So next day, we will take you out on a local sightseeing. Wards Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Don Bosco Museum, Elephant falls, etc. are some notable sightseeing destinations. We will at Shillong.

Day 3

Shillong to Mawlynnong & Dawki Sightseeing, Mawlynnong to Cherrapunji (245km/9hrs)

Next morning, we will take you to the Asia’s cleanest village Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is famous for its cleanliness and living root bridges. We will further take you to Dawki, about 20 kilometres south of Mawlynnong. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. Boating is also available on Umngot River. After sightseeing at Dawki, we will take you to Cherrapunji. We will stay at Cherrapunji.

Day 4

Cherrapunji Sightseeing (60km/7hrs)

Our next day would be sightseeing at the wettest place on the Earth! Yes, we are talking about Cherrapunji, which holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. Cherrapunji is famous for living root bridges, Nohkalikai waterfalls, Seven Sister waterfalls, Mawsmai caves (and of course the unending rainfalls of summer) etc. The stay will be at Cherrapunji.

Day 5

Cherrapunji to Kaziranga (370km/9hrs)

After completing our sightseeing at Cherrapunji we will head towards Kaziranga, the world heritage site situated in Assam. It would be around 370 kilometers drive from Cherrapunji and it is estimated to take around 9 hours. So, it would be a complete journey day with few stops to enjoy the local beauties and cuisine of Assam and Meghalaya. We will stay in Kaziranga.

Day 6

Kaziranga Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Next day we will take you out for sightseeing at Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park is itself an exquisite beauty to watch with a list of different species of flora and fauna. Of course no need to mention about the gentle beautiful creature for which Kaziranga is famous all over the world, the one horned rhinoceros. So, it will be a complete enjoyment day of sightseeing at Kaziranga National Park including elephant safaris in the morning, jeep safaris in the afternoon, visit to orchid garden and Assam’s famous tea gardens, ethnic village, Assamese localities etc. The stay will be at Kaziranga.

Day 7

Kaziranga to Guwahati (240km/5hrs)

Next morning we will take you Guwahati which will be around 5 hours drive from KNP. So, after reaching Guwahati we can take you out on sightseeing of Guwahati city. The notable places to check out in and enjoy in Guwahati are Kamakhya temple, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Balaji temple, Umanada (the smallest river island of the world), river cruises on the mighty River Brahmaputra and many other fantastic places. Your stay for the night will be at Guwahati.

Day 8

Guwahati Sightseeing, Airport Drop (100km/7hrs)

Next day, if time permits we will take you out on local city sightseeing and try to cover all the places of Guwahati. Then we will drop you off at the LGB International Airport. And thus, will end one of the most unforgettable happy trips of your life.

Guwahati with Shillong Tour Package Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong (100 km/ 03 Hrs.)

On the 1st day of the tour, you will start your journey from Guwahati to Shillong. Our tour representative will pick you up from Guwahati airport or railway station and drive towards Shillong. En route, you will visit Umiam Lake, a beautiful man-made reservoir.

Later, continue your drive to Shillong, a beautiful hill station and the capital of Meghalaya. Shillong is also popularly known as Scotland of the East. It is home to many waterfalls, parks, hills, and charming landforms. On arrival, complete your check-in formalities at the respective hotel and unwind. Later in the evening, take a short stroll at the local markets to buy organic products and bamboo handicrafts. You can also buy classy Scottish jackets, dresses, shrugs, shawls, stoles, and shirts. Visit the Police Bazar and after exploring the market back to your hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel..

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji(60 Kms/1.5 Hrs.)

On the 2nd-day of the tour, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast. Complete your check-out formalities at the hotel and get ready to visit Cherrapunji which is popularly known for being the heaviest rainfall destination in the world. This town of Meghalaya is also known as Sohra.

On arrival, complete your check-in formalities at the hotel. Later, visit some famous tourist spots, such as the Nohkalikai waterfall, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Visit Pillar Rock, Mawsmai Cave, and Eco Park. After exploring some of the best tourist spots in Cherrapunji, return to your respective hotel.

Day 3: In Cherrapunji

On day 3 of the tour, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Cherrapunji. After having your early morning breakfast visit the world-famous Double-decker living root bridge. These Living Root Bridges naturally occurred and were made from rubber tree roots, also known as the Ficus elastica tree and recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. If you are an adventure lover, you will enjoy this place as it is the most exciting spot in Cherrapunji. Then, enjoy a trek of almost 2.5 hours and cover 3,000 steps across the bridge. After enjoying your memorable and tiring trek, return to the hotel in the evening and have some rest.

Day 4: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Shillong

On day 4th, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast. Then, complete the check-out formalities and say goodbye to Cherrapunji. Next, visit the famous and the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong. Explore Mawlynnong Village and learn more about the culture and lifestyle of local tribes. This village is the home to the Khasi tribe mainly. Enjoy the best warm hospitality offered by the people of the village to the guests.

Later, visit some of the popular spots of the village such as Jingmaham Living Root Bridge and other stunning waterfalls. There are more things on the way to enjoy before reaching Shillong. Further, you will be driven to Dawki, which lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is renowned for its suspension bridge which is commonly known as the Dawki Bridge and is built over the Umngot River. After exploring the amazing towns continue your drive towards Shillong on arrival, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel, and relax.

Day 5: In Shillong

Enjoy the 5th day with Shillong local sightseeing. After having breakfast get ready to enjoy the local sightseeing tour of Shillong. Visit Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake, Butterfly Museum, and Elephant Falls.

Visit one of the popular museums of Shillong, Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures. Last but not least, visit the Shillong Peak, and trek high to the peak to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city, the Himalayas, and the plains of Bangladesh. On top of the peak, a telescope is provided for tourists to enjoy a bird’s eye view. In the evening, enjoy shopping in the local market.

Day 6: Shillong – Guwahati

On the 6th day, post breakfast completes the checkout formalities and drives towards Guwahati. After arrival in Guwahati, check in to the respective hotel and relax. Later continue your tour by visiting Kamakhya Temple. Seek the blessings of Maa Kamakhya and get ready to enjoy the river cruise on the Brahmaputra River. In the evening you are free for shopping.

Day 7: Leave Guwahati

It is time to say goodbye to the amazing city of Guwahati. After your delicious breakfast, completes the check-out formalities and you will be transferred to Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station for onward destination and with this Guwahati Shillong tour package ends.
